To all of Spanky's Gang,
 
Misfortune has befallen Spanky as he was expanding his domestic and international breeding programs.
 
Following joint surgery this past fall, he developed lamminitis and is seriously ill and under the care of world renowned lamminitis specialist Dr. R.F. Redden in Versailles, Kentucky.  Every means possible is being used in his management to help him recover.  Only time will tell whether he will survive.

Carrie is with him full time and reports that he has been a real trooper and that his spirits have remained high throughout his ordeal.
 
His breeding potential is currently being evaluated by Dr. Kristina Lu of the Hagyard equine medical institutes's McGee fertility center in Lexington, Kentucky.  Breeding will be managed by Dr. Hernado Plata-Madrid of the Woodford Equine Hospital in Versailles.
 
Another Blow to his domestic breeding program was the tragic loss of all his domestic frozen semen in a storage tank accident in the fall.
 
With these developments, his domestic breeding for 2010 remains in question.  We will strive to honor all current breeding contracts but cannot guarantee breeding for this year.  Upon request, we will void any 2010 contracts with full refund of all paid fees.  For mare owners with re-breeding guarantees we will refund the paid breeding fee less the booking fee which was our Breeding Manager's compensation. 
 
We have decided not to accept additional domestic contracts at this time.
 
International contracts for frozen semen will continue to be available in Europe from www.EuropeanHorseBreeders.com and in Australia from www.IHB.com.au .
 
We will post weekly updates regarding Spanky's progress and breeding status on the website.
